about

“This is the first take on my concept #affirmationmusic. You will see it. You will touch it. You will experience it”

-

Using what he calls "Affirmation Music,” Justking Jones hopes to provide the listener with a clearer view on their future. He asks that the listeners allow the music to take them on the journey of imagination.

“Imagination is God’s gift to you to take a tour of your future, come back, and make plans to go there.”

1. As a Black Man Thinketh (12:29)
This song explores the mind of the black man and his journey, navigating through modern day America and the world.

Composer: Justin D. Jones, Sean Mason
Produced by Justking Jones

2. Forgiven (7:52)
This is about granting yourself the permission to forgive- whether it be forgiving those in your life who may have caused you pain or forgiving yourself.

“Bitterness is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.”

Composer: Justin D. Jones
Produced by Justking Jones

3. Do You Know How I Feel (4:53)
“Do You Know How I Feel” was cultivated through a series of drives taken with my younger brother DJ where many of the conversations end with “Do you know how I feel?” It is a bonding space.

After releasing this single in February, we decided to revisit the song, now with a bridge written by Sean Mason.

Composer: Justin D. Jones, Sean Mason
Produced by Justking Jones

4. Hope And A Future (10:56)
This song was inspired by the scripture Jeremiah 29:11, where I hoped to reflect the verse’s meaning through sound and composition.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Composer: Justin D. Jones, Sean Mason
